Happy New Year !!
Last post of 2013! I still have a lot of photo's to work on from 2013! I have so much to say about this year but I am to lazy to type that all out lol. So, I'll just mention my photography achievements in the last year.
1. What I am most proud of doing this year was my self-esteem project with Karis Support Society ( a women's shelter). Where I encouraged 20-22 women whom were around the ages of 20-60+ to think of a surreal image in which they would be in. I was in full control of this project and I had a lot of help from an employee from Karis Support Society in organizing these clients into group and on which dates to take photos of them. I tried my best to achieve what they had in mind, to my surprise the majority of the women wanted a surreal image. The majority of the clients where very happy with what I created with them. I spent so much time on this project, but it was worth it too see how happy they all were with their images. I asked them so many question about what they wanted the photo to be like, what they wanted the photo to mean to them, where the shoot should be located, what colours they wanted to be in the photo, they choose their own costumes/ made props, they selected the main image of themselves that would be used, and if they wanted too I would sent them emails of their photo's while I was working on them. And, I did this all in about a months time. It was a great empowering experience for me and hopefully for them :) I only posted one photo onto social media sites because I was only allowed to use photographs that did not show their faces for confidentiality purposes.
2. I've been explored on flick/ I reached over 100 likes on my fb page.
3. I won two Phlearn photography contest!
4. I finally finished my hair dress which is called "Worship" on my flickr page.
5. I may have had photo published in a magazine lol.
6. People through my Facebook page are messaging me to take/ collaborate with them.
----------------
I have no idea why Flickr says I used a D700, I used a Nikon D 3100 for this photo.
