Sweet memories! [Explored]
The year was 1970! Bob and I "tied the knot" in our hometown of Manchester, TN. After finishing college, we followed jobs around Tennessee, Wisconsin, Indianapolis, and finally to our current home in Central Iowa.
Fast forward, in two days, we are saying goodbye to Iowa and returning to our roots in Manchester! I suppose this is the last sweet dish I will cook in this sweet home we've inhabited for almost three decades! We've raised our two younger children in Iowa as the two older ones were ready for college, as we left Tennessee in 1993.
What I will miss about Iowa? Of course, the people, beautiful farmlands, the Iowa State Fair, tasty tacos and corn on the cob, bike trails, the downtown jazz club, outstanding public libraries and medical facilities, and the karaoke scene! For over twenty years, our family has been involved in karaoke around the area. We will miss the fellowship with friends and the music! Dressing up for Halloween, Christmas ugly sweater parties, and Derby parties has been a real hoot!!! We cherish the memories and the pictures!
Living in Iowa for these past twenty seven years has been a joy. Soon, we leave with teary eyes.
We will be back to Iowa for visits! We have sweet little grandkids to check on, their parents, and great friends. And maybe we will need to go to the Iowa State Fair some more! I'll be missing your corn dogs!
