Shadowplay
'Moving through the silence without motion, waiting for you
In a room with a window in the corner I found truth'
Joy Division
Series Description: Another wander around the abandoned factory near Glasgow, this time with the eminent KJ Newvibes (see his stream for more fine shots of the same venue).
I am partially involved in the future of this building and that possibly leads me to think too much about it, but as I have said before, this building once employed a sizeable percentage of the towns population including a not small number of people I knew. These days it is the site of a legal tussle between the public and private sector, depending on who wins, it will either become a site where businesses and industry can once again be developed or become another nameless block of retail and residential buildings to the edge of a town that leads little help to dwindle in terms of cohesion and sustainability.
This image was taken with KJ Newvibes as my ‘subject’. We were in one of the football sized halls with light provided only by a mini torch. We both had a lot of fun stretching our technical ability to the max trying to do something clever and managed a few decent shots, this being my favourite. We were disturbed at one point by some frankly terrifying clanking noises from something, somewhere nearby. Never have two grown men stood so silent for so long in the interests of taking photos. Heeby and indeed jeeby.
