Lovers leap

I was taken on an impromptu tour around Sarajevo by a Bosnian Diplomat and a Bangladeshi Ambassador (long and remarkably true story).

The Bosnian, Mr Solmun, told me that the cliffs just to the left of the viewpoint were once famous for being a popular, if that is the right word, spot for jilted lovers to commit suicide. There was one rather tragic occassion when one couple who had been banned from seeing each other jumped and landed on a misjudged family picnic taking two members of the family with them. You have to assume they didn't aim before they leapt.

I saw this couple sitting up here just after I heard the story, just had to shoot the image.
