Le Mont Saint Michel (Manche-FR)
Le Mont-Saint-Michel est un îlot rocheux baigné par les marées et une commune de Normandie. Il est situé à environ un kilomètre du rivage, à l'embouchure du Couesnon, près d'Avranches. L'île est depuis toujours un point stratégique, et depuis le 8e siècle consacré à saint Michel où s’élève aujourd’hui l’abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel.

Mont Saint-Michel is a rocky tidal island and a commune in Normandy, France. It is located approximately one kilometre off the country's north-western coast, at the mouth of the Couesnon River near Avranches. The island has been a strategic point holding fortifications since ancient times, and since the 8th century AD it became the seat of the Saint-Michel monastery, from which it draws the name.
