I think that every illustrator has their dream jobs that they hope to get. One of mine was to get a cover of TV Guide. Back in the day TV Guide (a weekly American magazine with TV listings, articles and gossip) had some great covers. In the 70s and 80s some of the best illustrators did covers. In going through my work for archiving I came across a little series that I did especially for them to see. It was probably a little too early in my career. I did send them to their art director. I got a nice rejection letter back saying that they liked my work but it was too similar to an artist they were already using. I wish he told me which artist.
