Power of Steam

My father's steam engine. Precision model by the renowned Bassett-Lowke model engineering company. Catalogue description below. The prices look laughable but they were significant in the early 1920s when my father bought it He was a teenager and had saved up hard for it. Now it's about 100 years old and still works.

Alloys hardly heard of today went into it, gunmetal and German silver. Even the cast iron of the flywheel is on the way out. All lovingly machined and assembled.

For Macro Mondays "Father" 20-layer focus stack processed in HeliconFocus and Affinity Photo. FOV at the main axle is 2.4 inches.
