"Happy Homes and How to make them" ...(Explored(

This little book was printed 1882. Beautifully bound and with gilded page edges. Titled “Happy Homes and How to make them”with subtitle “Love, Courtship, and Marriage”. A relative gave it to my wife before we married – hopefully with a little tongue in cheek humour.

There are chapters on ‘popping the question’, 'advice to a young man seeking a wife’, duties of married life, 'confide in each other', 'do not expect too much'.. ..and more.

It’s a mirror of Victorian Age mores. One review says “This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.” - Gosh, what more could be added! Anyway, it has a special place on our bookshelves.

For Macro Mondays, "Book" - 42 layer focus stack, FOV at gilded page edges 2.6 inches.
