Château Les Barons
Medieval castle, insanely old, with an enormous history of knights, monks, blacksmiths, lords, barons and duchesses. It was once part of a very large settlement amidst a breathtaking valley.
Sold to a large investor in the nineties for the development of a housing project. The sudden death of the investor is what caused the abandonment and further neglect. Its future is uncertain.
Although I discovered this castle years ago (this sounds corny, right?), I never posted any pictures online. Most recently some Dutch photographers found this place as well. I was shocked to see the grand fireplace had been stolen and a lot of the antique stucco and mirrors had been removed.
The momentum of a fragile abandonment only lasts for a very short timespan...
