I told the owner, when he brought me my drink, that I was born in Wels, 1947. He said ‘Oh.’ and walked away. My first day in Wels was like this. I had seen a date of 1923 over the arch of a tobakinist near my hotel and decided a beer hall was worth a visit on the 100th anniversary of the Beer Hall Puscht in 1923. I was right.
