Laura helped me by flagging down this student and her friend for portraits as part of our photography class this week. The light was great, and this particular subject yielded quite a few good pictures, so it was hard to narrow it down to just one.
The earring was interesting of course, but the freckles also add some visual interest. Working with a new subject was very instructive, in that this person wanted to smile all of the time, probably out of nervousness, but I thought the final result would look better with a different look, and so instructed her to just stare off into space.
