An iron age mystery.

This is Midhowe Broch on Rousay which is one of the Orkney islands off the north coast of the Scottish mainland. It is an Iron Age building and the most interesting thing about Brochs is that we don't know what they were built for. This was built around 200 BC to 200 AD and is very impressive. We do know they are unique to the north and west of Scotland. They probably had a defensive function but it is likely they were built to impress.
