5775 Keighley Station. 04.06.1990.

5775 is an ex GWR 0-6-0, Pannier tank, built at Swindon in 1929. It was allocated to sheds in South Wales after the Second World War and was withdrawn from BR service in July 1963.

It was then sold to London Transport where it ran as L89 until 1970, when it was sold to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway (KWVR). It soon appeared in the film The Railway Children in this orange / brown livery of the fictional Great North & South Railway (GN&SR).

Shortly after this photograph was taken it reverted to an authentic BR black livery but in May 2014 it went to "Locomotion", the NRM at Shildon, to be repainted in this fictious livery for an exhibition about The Railway Children film. It has since returned to the KWVR and is on display in the museum at Oxenhope.
