Chichen Itza

Chichen Itza the mayan temple located on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. When on vacation we reluctantly visited this site because they had forecast rain. It's a three hour drive from the resort we were staying at and none of us fancied the idea of three hours on a bus. Anyway, it rained virtually all day, but as soon as we walked through the entrance it stopped.

 

I am so glad we went, it's an amazing complex, the pyramid here being the focal point and main attraction. It was well worth the road trip.
