Lava flow

The land between Adams and St. Helens is essentially a giant lava flow punctured with rivers and creeks flowing from the volcanoes. This is one of the first off-trail waterfalls I visited in the GIfford Pinchot and will always be one of my favorites even as it becomes more well-known. This shot was taken on my last visit, a year and a half ago now. I am hoping to get back this spring.
