The High Coast Line

About 20 000 years ago Sweden was covered by inland ice.

During the Ice age the land was pressed down under the heavy weight of the ice. After the ice had melted the land started to raise again

When you are at the Highest Coastline you are on the border between the land that has been under water and the land that has not been covered by the Baltic Sea water. In the south-eastern Sweden the Highest Coastline is about 60-80 metres above the current surface of the Baltic Sea.

This place is located near the town of Stjärnsund, in Dalarna.

Well what do you know, you can actually learn things at flickr :)
