On the Sidelines

The sudden rupture of a 33-inch water main during a period of freezing temperatures brought Los Angeles Firefighters to the 12000 block of Cantara Street in North Hollywood, California on January 18, 2007. An LAFD dump truck and skiploader joined Neighborhood Firefighters in the quick and effective creation of sand barriers to divert rising water from dozens of homes and into the area's drainage system.
