The BIG tire

This display is a tire off of one of the 18 foot high haul trucks that carry 255 to 320 tons at a time out of the mine. Inside the mine, the trucks travel at an average of 15 miles an hour. Each truck costs about $2 million dollars.

Each truck uses 6 of these tires. Each tire costs $18,000 to $20,000 dollars and lasts about 9 months before needing to be replaced.

I guess buying one for my backyard tire swing is out of the question.
