Buck in Silhouette - Shenandoah National Park

We hiked Stony Man Mountain this morning. On the way to the trailhead, we stopped by the Franklin Cliffs overlook. I walked the little trail over the the cliffside, and found a gorgeous buck completely backlit against the blue sky.

 

I thought I'd have to do some significant processing to get the image to create the strong silhouette I wanted, but it turned out that all I had to do was slide the black level up by 5 in my RAW editor. I also cloned a couple random branches coming in from the edge of the frame.
