Black on Black

This is Hoodoo. He belongs to the same friends that own Sunshine. I was photographing their two dogs on a black background. I hadn't planned on photographing their cat. But, Hoodoo decided to be a good sport and sat on the set, so I thought these black on black photos would be a bit of fun. I know you don't see a lot of fur detail, but I wanted to do something to emphasize his eyes.

 

And here's a true confession... I am terrified of house cats. It's not that I dislike cats -- I think they are beautiful animals. I'm just scared of them like other people are scared of snakes or spiders. I know, I know... it's silly and stupid to be scared of cats.

 

After I get to know a cat and am sure he's not a pouncer, biter, scratcher - we can absolutely be friends. It just takes me a little extra time to warm up to a cat. Whereas, I'm instant buddies with most every dog I meet.
