Many well-known photographers are known for their black and white street photos. Jon did a great job of capturing the look on this woman's face when she saw the art piece with the arrow going through the skull. Also like that the background is blown out so it doesn't interfere with the subject.

Actually, I chose this picture for several reasons...some not having anything to do with photography. The first reason was because I liked that only the buildings were done in HDR, then because it looked like it could have been somewhere in Italy. I also liked the idea of seeing Folsom in a different way...not only as home to the famous prison but as a beautiful place unto itself.

I don't think I've ever seen a Jeff Clow photo that isn't wonderful, and must admit that I immediately recognized this photo as one of his. What I didn't know is that Jeff had picked it as his favorite photo of all time and I can see why. There is so much evidence of the time, the detail, and the love that went into this not only when shooting it, but in the post processing. I want to be able to do post processing like Jeff when I grow up.

(NOTICE: I moved this photo from BBBG4 so I could add the final photo of my tenure to that gallery.)
First a disclosure. I saw this picture on Bob's photostream and told him that had I seen it in the Bistro pool, I would have chosen it for BBB4. So he added it, and so did I. Here's why: when I first saw it, I thought I was looking at some kind of invitation or announcement from the 1940's. Converting this to black and white was a great idea. Using a soft white vignette...better still. But adding the type with that font...completed the product. I could almost hear Glenn Miller's band playing Little Brown Jug.
