Senatobia Mississippi McDonald's, view from the parking lot of an early 80's Wal-Mart site

Last Monday I uploaded McDonald's pics, so here's some more "McDonald's Monday" photos from another Play Place location. Senatobia is about 35 miles south of Memphis, and home of the first Wal-Mart that I remember ever going to. McDonald's presence across the street from that former Wal-Mart location dates back to the very late 70's or early 80's (along with Wal-Mart itself), since this area was definitely not developed for retail yet per a 1976 aerial photograph. McDonald's rebuilt at this location in 2000, per assessor's records.

 

McDonald's replacing a mansard roof style building with another mansard roof style seems like a rather odd concept, but it happened more than a few times back before the "eyebrow age". The Whitehaven location was also replaced in the same manner circa 2004-2005, not too long before the eyebrow era started.
