Elanoides forficatus

Swallow-tailed kite. Telfair Co., GA

 

There is a lot of room for improvement with my bird-in-flight skills but these birds are just so cool to watch hunting over open fields, picking off grasshoppers. Several of these were seen soaring amongst a large group of Mississippi kites (Ictinia mississippiensis).
