A Verditer Flycatcher gathering nesting materials

A very colorful flycatcher named after its distinctive color - copper-Sulphate blue. Both the sexes are of similar color, but the female in this picture has a quite washed out /faded color while the male is more colorful They are upper canopy birds and could be heard in thick wooded areas and forests during winters. There were several of them and we had a wonderful time watching them play and forage on the upper canopy.

These are migratory birds to India from the Himalayan Forests / Southern China / South East Asia to South India during winters. They come in good numbers and are quite a favorite of photographers due to their distinctive color. We sighted several of them in their nesting grounds during the trip to the Himalayan forests earlier this month - they were nesting in roadside bushes. I was quite delighted to see so many of them and up close - I love their distinctive color and calls.

Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
