A Bluethroat foraging in a wet paddy field

This is a winter migrant to India and a flycatcher. The Bluethroat is the size of an Indian Robin, and quite is favorite of the photographers here - especially this male. The bird is migratory from Central Asia / Palearctic region and is found in the countryside preferring harvested fields and low dense bushes with some wet areas around where lot of flies could be found.

The male bird is favorite of photographers due to the beautiful breast area marked by the blue and orangish throat with a slight reddish tail. The mature males - which we often seen towards March are very beautiful. These days we are seeing them in very good numbers everywhere actively foraging in the morning fog.

Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
