A Brown Headed Barbet foraging on the hill sides
A medium sized resident barbets endemic to India and heard around the forests easily rather than seen. They have a very loud call heard above everything else in the forests that continuously goes for a long time.
This one was shot in a forest overlooking a temple on the edge of a hill. There were maybe 5-6 of these around and their calls filled up the air. The birds were foraging on the lush greenery on the steep slope. There were a few berry trees and several birds were gathered around it. The Barbet had a berry and flew to this perch to take a break from the competition I suppose.
The shot was affected by the smoke emanating from the temple kitchen and resulted in a bit of haze that I couldn't process.
