A Purple Sunbird checking out a snack on the branch
The bird saw some movement in this acacia plant. A small creature - so it searched the branch which was too weak to hold his 10 g weight. His search took 4-5 short trips from the trunk which was around 5 feet away. He hovered, went back, came gain, hovered and this happened a few times. He was sure there was something darting on the branches between the leaves.
And his effort paid off - he caught a tiny tree spider - a small little creature right enough for his beak I suppose. He flew back to the trunk and finished it in a quick second. A few seconds relaxation and relishing the snack - he was back again for another round!
