Flint Hills Sunrise.

Soon the prescribed burns will be happening in the hills and things will begin to turn green. It's an evey year ritual with the ranchers. Burning keeps the woody vegetation such cedar trees, roughleaf dogwood, sumac and others. The green grass provides lots of nutrients in the spring for the cattle. Cattle will gain about 40% of their weight then.
