The Other Side

I think I have regained proper usage of all my limbs without having to grunt obscenities under my breath. As most of you have heard I had quite the weekend so forgive me if I have missed out on your streams. I met up with Aaron, Andrew, Don, Matt, and Zeb (yes they are in alphabetical order) on Sunday. On the drive down sunrise was really goin off and Andrew and I stopped at a viewpoint to try and take advantage of it. Along came Don screaching around the corner with the same idea. I had been to Lower Lewis River Falls one time back in the fall so I was sure happy to see someone that had real directions in a real book to the falls. Little did I know that Don was previously a race car driver and I almost killed Andrew and myself to try and keep up with him! Meeting the dirt road from the pavement at 50 miles an hour gave this gal a freakn grey hair! Thanx Don :) So we set off to see what we could see and I found some rope that led to the lower part of the falls. The guys were just lookin at each other like it was some snake tied to a tree. I knew I didn't just drive 2 hours and almost kill myself AGAIN to shoot this baby from the viewpoint. I lowered myself down looked around and knew I was gonna have to get wet. I dove right in but on the inside I was screamin to high hek all the while Don decides to retreat and Andrew was still fiddling around trying to figure a way around without getting in the water. I'm shooting some frames while my bud is just standing high and dry trying to figure out if it was worth it. I peaked around the corner to behold this lovely scene and I knew this was my shot instantaneously. I yelled at Andrew to get his skinny a$$ in the water (kidding I said please) so he could see what was around the bend. You really had to be there to hear the falls and feel the mist while taking in the moment. I had already lost all feelings in my legs at that point but I knew I had to bring home one keeper. I heard some yelling and I looked up to see my friend Aaron cheering me on from above the canyon walls. Aaron rolled his jeans up and trudged right in and I knew that between the 3 of us we were gonna do this place justice. We shot some viewpoints at the top and headed onto another fall. I can't remember the name of the next fall but after trying to reach a better vantage point I knew that I was in the company of the do or die team. Blazing our own trail through steep forest mush and devils club we were working our way to our fearless leader Zeb. The 3 boys that didn't get in the water previously eventually made it to the better vantage point while us waterlogged hypothermia sticken warriors opted for a time out. Eventually we made it back to the cars where Zeb and Aaron just don't know when to raise the white flag. They convince us to go one more round. We bid farewell to Don and went for the last hoorah. I am dying at this point and my legs are shaking but I'm representing for the gals and I ain't lettin ya'all down without a fight. I was at a clear disadvantage cuz I had already killed myself the day before trying to keep up with Gary aka Billy Randall but I took one look at my hulk sticker and went all in. I got poked in the eye with so many branches and there was not one of us who looked graceful while doin it. All in all I got some pretty good images and I met some A+ class citizens. You do or diers rock but the grand prize goes to my hubby. When Andrew and I came back we had HOT homemade apple cranberry cider drinks waiting for us and a chicken and steak feast fit for a king. Thanks guys for an awesome adventure and we'll have to do it again soon :)
