Me not mad, me got tagged

10 wicked ways to wisdom. Or at least, to some knowledge. Oh well, some tiny facts.

1. When you make a felt hat, don't use this stiff, itchy karakul whool. Like I did. Didn't wear it any more after this photoshoot.

2. I've read and reread The Count of Monte Cristo more times than The Lord of the Rings. Which says something about me and the Count.

3. I've used to collect non-roman alphabets. Like cyrillian, tengwar and runes.

4. I clap and tick and stamp along any kind of music playing, which is quite annoying. When the music is only in my head and it's an odd 9/16 measure, it's even more annoying.

5. At high school, I was the only one among the 550 male students having long hair. The called me Indiana Jones for it and I kinda liked that.

6. I got my first LP second hand at Concerto, Amsterdam. It was the Yessongs album, and I bought it because of the cover, painted by Roger Dean.

7. Folk and traditional music is the best there is. Even better than Beefheart.

8. Lately, I sketch and make big plans and it blocks me from building mocs. It's an ageing disease, I know for sure.

9. I hated red beets when I was a kid, but nowadays I eat them cold, with salt herring and sour cream, pickles and boiled eggs. Lovely.

10. When I want to know more about the nature of nature, I read Goedel, Escher, Bach by D. Hofstadter. When I want to know more about the nature of man, I read comics. Like the dutch Heinz the Cat. The nature of language connects this and us all.
