The big white mercado next to the Cathedral was called "Waldo's." The market included shops for shoes, clothes, jewelry, food, drinks, restaurants, groceries and much more. Often, the vendors would bring their wares out onto the streets, making it only passable for foot traffic. The plaza includes a bunch of activity including indigenous tribal dances, a water fountain, a gazebo, vendors and a bunch of people gathering.
