Our Lady of the New Millenium

This statue has been "on tour" throughout "Chicagoland" for the last 10 years. It is 33 feet tall and made from 8400 pounds (4 tons) of stainless steel. It was the dream of the late Carl Demma, who commissioned it as a gift for the people of Chicago. The sculptor was Charles Cropper Parks. It will be on permanent display at the Shrine of Christ's Passion near St. John the Evangelist Church in St. John, Indiana. When the picture was taken on April 13, the statue was still on the back of a flat bed trailer in a parking lot behind the church, catching the last rays of the sunset.
