Sandhill Cranes in the morning mist

Sandhill Cranes overwinter in the Central Valley of California. Each night they come in to roost in flooded rice fields. At daybreak, they begin to move about. The rising sun brings a glorious golden light tinged with pinks and blues. I loved how the sun silhouetted these cranes as they started their day.
