Eared Grebe (M) in breeding plumage (chiaroscuro)

To get this image, I donned boots and waders and ventured in to a lake at sunset. Eared Grebes which were out on the lake gradually drifted toward us. Just at the sun was setting, a final shaft of light caught the feathers of this beautiful bird, highlighting the magnificent breeding plumage.
