Ian's Tendrils

As Ian slowly pulls away from Florida heading north the far top edges of the spinning clouds are now coming over Maryland this evening. The size of the storm is very big given the clouds are already spreading up this way.

Expecting rains over the weekend as the remnants of the storm head up the east coast and mountain areas.

With the clouds coming in from the south and east and skies clear to the west, I figured there was a chance of pretty colors this evening. So grabbed the dogs and we went down and visited my dad at Middle River.

The river was pretty smooth given low winds and little boat traffic, making for pretty reflections as the sky went on fire.

My sister in Florida is still without power and cleaning up some storm damage, but luckily they were far enough from the eye to limit the damage.

Many were not lucky at all down there in Fort Meyers and can only feel for them as they deal with the storm surge and wind damage. Having dealt with that when Isabel hit Maryland years ago flooding my parent's home (where I took this photo this evening) I was thinking about all that damage then and the cleanup we had to do for days there. Many down there have a long road ahead for them.
