... says he, while keeping a casual eye on his precious cone.
He wants you to believe it's yours for the taking, but don't let yourself be lulled into thinking you could beat him to the draw! ;-)

This is Max, a docile and adorable Catalonian sheepdog, rescued from a dog’s home, would you believe? He had committed the ultimate crime of eating someone's prize chickens. His owner had no choice but to part with him, much to our delight.
But what if the episode of the chickens was just a one-off? He may simply have been starving to death. You know what it’s like to feel you could just murder a hot dog or a kentucky fried chicken, or even a scotch egg or two.
Perhaps he was provoked. Maybe the chickens attacked him first and they simply got their comeuppance.
Poor Max, he didn’t have a dog’s chance. He was found guilty as charged and condemned to spend the rest of his "dog days" with us; yours truly and Co.
He quickly became "one of the family" and gave up eating chickens. Instead, he turned his attention to wild ducks as the photos below, taken in 2003 and later in 2005, will testify. Animal behaviour never ceases to amaze me.
Sadly he's no longer with us but he has left behind a legacy of happy memories and treasured photos of our adventures together in the forest and on the beach, always along with Kitty, of course!
He has also left behind a void that can never be filled!
We regret not having known him as a puppy and that my earliest pictures of him didn't do him justice, though he didn't seem to mind. He was a loyal and affectionate companion, a dog and a half that stole the hearts of everyone who knew him.
As for Kitty, well, she's still a little bitch and a half but together, she and Max; made a great team. Things will never be the same again.
I think he’s so lovely in lightbox but then I may be just a little partial.
