nga-nga
T'boli women prepare what is locally known as "nga-nga" shortly before dusk at Tawan dagat village in Barangay Ned, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. "Nga-nga" is mixture of beetle nut wrapped in mint leaf along with other spices and once chewed, it produces a red orange moisture. It has been par of the indigenous peoples tradition. Tawan Dagat is one of the four indigenous communities affected by the expansion of the coffee plantation in the area. The Philippines celebrate indigenous peoples month every October.
