This field captures a rarely photographed region of the constellation Cygnus the Swan in the SHO palette to show an array of LBN (Lynds’ Bright Nebula) and LDN (Lynds’ Dark Nebula) objects.

- LBN 177 – Lynds’ Bright Nebula 177 - between 6,500 and 10,000 light years from Earth

- LBN 174 – Lynds’ Bright Nebula 174 - approximately 1,400 light-years away from Earth

 

- LDN 856 – Lynds’ Dark Nebula 856 - approximately 800 to 1000 light-years from Earth.

- LDN 853 – Lynds’ Dark Nebula 853 – aka Barnard 147 – distance unknown

- LDN 852 – Lynds’ Dark Nebula 852 - distance unknown

- LDN 849 – Lynds’ Dark Nebula 849 - distance unknown

- LDN 848 – Lynds’ Dark Nebula 848 - distance unknown

- NGC6871 – a small, young open cluster of less than 50 blue and white stars about 5135 light years from Earth
