The evening's harvest moon was soon hidden behind a high fog that rolled in through the Golden Gate. However the moon was low enough that its light reached under the fog to light up the San Francisco Bay.
In the foreground is the north tower of the Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge in the background is the Bay Bridge, connecting San Francisco and Oakland. Its western span is lit by a temporary nightly light show that may become permanent. Echoing the north tower is the brilliant white central pylon of the Bay Bridge's new eastern span.
