London - 1 Jun - Lion's Head Doorknocker
Gloucester Terrace was named by John Nash after King George IV's cousin and brother-in-law, William, Duke of Gloucester. It is the furthest north of John Nash's terraces on the east side of Regent's Park, sitting just beyond Saint Katherine's Hospital. Gloucester Terrace is the only of Nash's buildings that does not appear in Shepherd's map of 1827, having been built after 1828.
