Eyeing up Affric
I could barely appreciate the welcome that the skies of Scotland gave me yesterday. Climbing higher than every peak in the country, the views of mountains just went on and on. Here, I'm soaring over Sgurr nan Conbhairean, near Loch Cluanie, looking north in to the great expanse of Glen Affric, and beyond to countless other glens and forests of the Scottish Highlands. But, being only March, it was bitterly cold in the air, well below freezing before considering wind-chill, which caused great suffering for my hands. Some great flighs were had across the vista pictured here, but for me, I couldn't commit to the hours of airtime and exposure required to cross an area that would almost certainly oblige an overnight stay if I landed in the middle of it. Still, for my first day flying in Scotland this year, I'm more than satisfied with capturing these views.
