apartment note01
I got a "very concerned" call from someone in the apartment office at about 9:30 Monday morning. She offered all the usual hollow, wrote and trite customer service rhetoric about how she's sorry there's a problem and how they'll look at it right away. Then she tried to shift the blame for the bad communication on to me. She said that if it was so bad I had to call the city, I should have called the emergency maintenance number.
The problem, really, isn't with the water coming through the ceiling. The problem is with the poor response I've gotten from the management office when I've tried to contact them. She didn't get that. I wonder if anyone there does.
I asked that while they're in looking at the damage to the kitchen ceiling, they should check the stove, too, since that stopped working... and the bathroom ceiling has had some long-standing water damage that should be fixed (especially since they fixed the tub upstairs a few months ago and it doesn't leak into that spot any more).
When I got home today, this little sticky note was gingerly hanging on to my door. It was the only notice around that anyone had been in the apartment.
The stove still doesn't work and it is obvious that no one looked at the bathroom ceiling water damage.
