Sunset at Doxey Pool
Lovely glimpse of the setting sun through the cloud from Doxey Pool on the Roaches.
When I was last here, I mused over the legend of the evil Mermaid, Jenny Greenteeth, who supposedly lives here.
I've since learned it could be an evolution of 'Mere-Maid', referring to a lass who was sentenced to be drowned as a witch in the pools on the moors.
Also - an important note - apologies for posting a second image so similar another I uploaded... After sharing the previous version, I was reviewing my rejection pile and found this image which, to my mind, is better than the original one. I've learnt my lesson about sharing images in haste, and have removed the original 'Doxey Pool Sunbeam' image.
