My son came home from a visit to a friend's house yesterday, and they'd had a fight. We talked about it and he was OK with his reactions and feelings, but he said his friend had broken his heart. I couldn't do much about it, except be there, listen, and cuddle beneath a fleecy SpongeBob blanket for an X-Men marathon to make it better. It left me feeling terribly small, in a terrible way.
We spend most evenings watching the sunset. We almost always see an airplane or two, and he loves to talk about how the plane is huge to us, we'd only be specks compared to it, but there against the sky, it's the speck. It leaves us feeling terribly small, but in a wonderful way.
