Still Life with Cauliflower and Eggs
Luis Melendez painted a beautiful Still Life with a Cauliflower, this is my version. The Cauli is not my favourite vegetable but it has great texture, and the light just loves it.
Originally I had placed thae Cauliflower up the other way so all the white flowers could be aseen. But it didn't sit well, so I turned it over and these beautiful leaves came into shot.
While this series of Spanish still lifes doesn't really beg to be interpreted, I can't help but read these leaves as protecting the flowers from the harsh gaze of the viewer.
