In 1985, Factory Records started releasing cassettes in the UK for the first time. Perversely - typically - the label chose to package them lavishly, in oversized linen boxes rather than the usual plastic cases.
New Order's "Low-life" was the first to be release, in Summer 1985, and by 1986, they'd got round to releasing the three Joy Division albums.
