Queen St W from Dowling to Beaty, 2015
July 2015, assembled 2022
The bookend buildings are each dated 1912.
The one on Dowling had been boarded up and run down through the 2000s after an awful fire in 1998 —in which a few people died and dozens were displaced—gutted the building. From street level, it was hard to tell these buildings were siblings.
1495 was rebuilt and restored in 2010.
A reminder to pole counters, if there are any: my method inevitably leads to disappearing poles. The wires hint at the ghost pole.
