Blues to beat the Blues

The skies over Kuala Lumpur has been dark and overcast lately, and without the regular dosage of sunshine, I've been a little blue.

It didn't help that I was in the Seattle area for the past few weeks as well - it's very famous for it's overcast weather too.

So, I dug out a photo from the archives - my holiday to Pulau Perhentian Besar, a small island off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. This is in 2006, and the photo was taken with my old Nikon Coolpix 7900, during my pre SLR days.

The Perhentian Islands, named after the Malay word for stopover, is an idyllic holiday location. There are two islands, Perhentian Besar (Big Perhentian), which is where the photo is taken, and Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian), in the foreground. Big Perhentian has a slower pace to it - resorts are bigger, more family oriented, and perhaps a bit more sedate. Perhentian Kecil is where you head to for more nighlife, parties and younger crowds.

I miss the nice beaches ...
