On the left, bassoonist Jo is holding the Contra-bassoon formerly belonging to Valerie Watts. An ensemble has just played through the music for a memorial concerf to Valerie, who sadly died before the course and was thus unable to be there. The children were arranged on the bench next to this fascunating piece of machinery!
