Speleology

by Kev Bailey

Potholing, caves and caving. As a mountaineer, I always thought cavers were complete nutters. A teaching colleague introduced me to the delights of the underground and I was an immediate convert. Most exploring was done in North Wales, where there are some tricky systems but none of great length. The occasional foray to Yorkshire with more experienced cavers followed. Then we had some small successes locating a few new passages. I don't do much these days but the hankering is still there. I might give it a go again in the new year.
